An Uglee Pen for a Beautiful Writing Experience

Alright, it’s really not all that ugly.  It’s just called UGLEE which is short for Ultimate Grip by Lee.  That’s an ultimate grip pen designed by Dr. James Lee.  This pen is considered to be the most comfortable ergonomic pen around.  I know because I have and Uglee Pen on my desk right now.  I got it in the mail and I found it interestingly, well, odd looking.  But, I’m always open about trying out new things.  Although people today do not write using pen and paper as much as a decade ago, it would still be worthy to consider this pen as that one pen you should have in your purse all the time.  It’s especially great for students who have to take notes and write long essays by hand and for writers like me who still write drafts the traditional pen-and-paper way.

Fingers cramping, joints tingling, and wrists hurting – these are feelings that I do not want to go through ever again.  It’s nothing like the way Harry Potter’s hands felt while using Professor Umbridge’s blood quill, but writing half a dozen drafts certainly is uncomfortable enough.  I do love writing and typing on my keyboard is so much more convenient than writing by pen.  There are times, however, when I still have to go the conventional pen and paper way of note taking.  I’m happy to have this pen from Dr. Lee to write my notes when covering news worthy stories.

Dr. Lee’s innovative pen is amazingly comfortable to write with.  It’s just the right weight at less than half an ounce.  The grip is also not a problem since the “oddly-shaped” body is actually contoured and engineered to conform to the hand’s anatomy.  Dr. Lee spent years tinkering with all sorts of pens and machines to come up with this pen, going as far as closely examining the structural makeup of the human hand by studying x-ray images among others.  As for the ink, you can be assured of a smooth flow with an ink system that works better than roller balls, gel inks, or even fountain pen inks.

I’ve never lost my love for writing, I just found ways to write other than with ink.  Now, I’ve awakened the traditional writer in me.  I think I’ll be writing more by hand from now on.  It’s great that I can share my Uglee Pens with my little one as they are also designed to help children prevent repetitive stress injury and other hand injuries.

  • Jeanine   /   May 31, 2013., 1:03 pmReply

I am curious as to just how much this reduces the cramping from writing. I don't do a lot of writing so it doesn't take much to cramp anymore. New innovation that's welcome!!

  • Rachael Henzman   /   May 31, 2013., 3:56 pmReply

Sounds like an awesome pen, and I don't think it's ugly lol! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Mer   /   June 1, 2013., 1:15 amReply

Interesting idea. I was a bit skeptical of the ergonomic design, but thanks to your review it sounds like it works well.

  • kathy crenshaw   /   June 1, 2013., 1:30 pmReply

They have given the best name for the looks of the pen. But it doesn't matter how it looks as long as it does the job. According to the reviews it does as it says it would. I would really like to try it. I think it would help improve my hand writing. I have found that I do need a better made pen and this looks like one the I would want to use. Thank you.

  • md kennedy   /   June 1, 2013., 6:52 pmReply

I have to try this pen! I still write quite bit by hand - usually editing - and no matter what pen I've used over the years, my hand does get tired. This may be my savior!
